Tasks:
- Independently plan, develop, optimize, and maintain firmware for existing and new in vitro diagnostic devices, ensuring compliance with IVDR standards and precision in laboratory automation
- Implement firmware to handle analog optical signal measurements (e.g., absorbance, fluorescence, luminescence), focusing on processing short, high-precision signals within defined timing and detection limits
- Consulting on the full firmware development cycle, from initial concepts and specifications to coding, documentation, and troubleshooting, ensuring alignment with stringent IVDR requirements
- Independently develop and optimize firmware for custom hardware systems, including microcontrollers and detectors, to enable efficient data acquisition, processing, and integration within diagnostic workflows
- Translate complex user needs, regulatory requirements, and system specifications into actionable software components and interface definitions, prioritizing usability and compliance
- Collaborate as a consultant with teams in software, electronics, mechanics, optics, and motion control to deliver innovative and compliant diagnostic solutions
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in firmware development using C/C#, with experience in Renesas processors and an emphasis on high-quality firmware for medical diagnostics is desired
- Familiarity with IVDR regulatory requirements and expertise in precise signal processing and efficient timing in laboratory diagnostic applications is desired
- Strong ability to work in interdisciplinary teams, integrating hardware and software components within the context of medical device development
