I am currently seeking a technically skilled professional for an innovative technology company in the field of laboratory automation who enjoys combining software, mathematics, and robotics.
In this role, you’ll develop intelligent planning and optimization algorithms for a modern robotics platform used in analyticallaboratory environments. This isn’t about traditional business software, but rather solutions that reliably, efficiently, and precisely control real-world mechatronic systems.
Your Responsibilities
- Developing and refining algorithms for scheduling and optimizing robotic laboratory processes
- Implementing mathematical and heuristic optimization methods in production-ready software
- Validating the developed solutions directly on the robot system under real-time, quality, and reliability requirements
- Prototyping, performance analysis, and continuous optimization of existing components
- Further development of the software architecture as well as existing scheduling and automation modules
- Collaboration on interfaces for integrating the systems into customer and partner environments
- Development of high-quality, maintainable software in a regulated, quality-oriented environment
- Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams from the fields of software, robotics, mechatronics, and analytical chemistry
Your Profile
- Master’s or Ph.D. degree in computer science, applied mathematics, computational engineering, or a related field
- Experience with mathematical optimization, operations research, or algorithmic problem-solving
- Knowledge in areas such as constraint programming, integer programming, scheduling, or combinatorial optimization
- Excellent programming skills in Python, as well as experience with scientific libraries such as NumPy or Pandas
- Ideally, some experience with C#, .NET, or comparable object-oriented software environments
- Understanding of clean software architecture, clean code, and systems that are maintainable over the long term
- Experience with solver technologies, e.g., OR tools, CP-SAT, or similar frameworks, is a plus
- Interest in technical systems, robotics, hardware, or automation
- Excellent English skills; knowledge of German is a plus
